Teng is a first-generation immigrant who immigrated from the Philippines in 1996. For 27 years, she raised her 5 children as a loving stay at home parent, but always had dreams of opening a restaurant with her signature dish: Siomai. In June 2025 she decided it was now or never. With the support of her children and husband, Teng's Siomai opened in August 2025. Since the Grand Opening, it has been a staple in Winnipeg with many regarding her Siomai as the best in Winnipeg.

Today, Teng's Siomai has served over 200,000+ pieces of Siomai to the Winnipeg Community, committed to delivering the best Siomai that our city has to offer. From quick lunches to corporate parties, our customers have shown that Fresh Siomai is right for any occasion. Teng's Siomai is now expanding our horizons, selling frozen siomai in retail stores so that people across Canada can enjoy Teng's authentic Filipino Siomai.
